Heritage Homes, a new home construction company specializing in custom home building throughout the region, announces the completion of a two day EPA conference training seminar attended by Brian Hanson, Construction Superintendent and Amie Barclay, Executive Assistant.

Superintendent and Amie Barclay, Executive Assistant recently attended the North Dakota Water and Pollution Control Conference held in Jamestown, North Dakota. The conference was hosted by the North Dakota Department of Health Division of Water Quality, a division of the national Environmental Protection Agency. EPA law states that all construction sites must be in compliance with EPA regulations as pertains to storm water run-off and pollution control. Heritage Homes is a strong advocate for the EPA in North Dakota and has become actively involved with EPA officials in order to have a clearer understanding of EPA regulations. Tyrone Leslie, Vice President of Heritage Homes has spoken in Washington D.C. and worked with Senator Kent Conrad on behalf of North Dakota builders. The conference in Jamestown is one of many EPA training sessions that Amie and Brian have attended.
The Jamestown conference was held for both residential and commercial construction companies on construction site storm water erosion and sediment control. Emphasis was placed on implementing effective controls and best management practices to reduce pollutants. The conference was presented by Leo Holm, P.E., and Section Director for the Landscape Forestry and Turf Establishment of the Office of Environmental Services in Minnesota with 30+ years of experience in erosion control and stabilizing critical areas and Dwayne Stenland, CPESC, CPRM who is employed in the Turf Establishment and Erosion Prevention Unit and is also a member of the Vegetation Management Association of Minnesota and the Minnesota Erosion Control Association. Other presenters included Brock Storrusten of Moore Engineering, Michael Gunsch of Houston Engineering and Tom Huncovsky of the North Dakota Department of Transportation.
